The Team

Meet the brilliant people who play a part in the day to day function of Family Videography:

Michelle Bova
Creative Director/Videographer

Drawn to the storytelling aspect and the experience of getting a behind the scenes perspective of both artwork and events, Michelle started studying videography and gaining practical experience in 2005.

Video has definitely been an interest since childhood, and one thing that continues to drive her love is the preservation of precious memories and moments in time.

Growing up with four brothers and one with a keen interest in film making, one of her earliest memories of making video is an at home remake of Mad Max. Michelle was lucky enough to play the part of Max’s wife, who is killed very early in the film (cue the tomato sauce).

Michelle created Family Videography in 2010 as a way to give families access to videographers to assist them with recording, managing and creating family videos to keep and pass on to future generations. She finds working with families on tribute videos particularly rewarding.

Her dream for the future of Family Videography is to keep growing, build an amazing team of talented videographers, and have families think more about creating their own family time capsules.

Mark Santos
Videographer/Editor

Mark was fascinated by video from a young age, fascinated by motion pictures and curious to discover how such beautiful works were created.

First using video for school projects, Mark cites one of his earliest memories of videography as a short film recorded on a handy cam and edited entirely using two video cameras connected to a television!

Mark began his professional career in 2006 as a freelance video editor/camera operator around his province in the Philippines, working primarily on documentaries, political advertisements and school projects.

When asked what event, past, present or future, he would most like to record Mark answered;

Past - Film and event with my mother (who passed away when I was 5 years old)
Present - My everyday life is memorable with my wife and my baby, so I would film the present event with them.
Future - My whole family will always be special to me. So filming an event with the entire family would be nice.

Evan Zell
Videographer/Editor

Evan started shooting in 2007 on a Sony HC7, his first ever paid job was a wedding in Mudgee.

The ability to create beautiful work is what first drew him to the production industry.

When asked what event, past, present or future, he would most like to record Evan answered;

I would have shot the maiden departure of the titanic as i would have been a once in a lifetime experience.

Photobucket
Chris Evans
Videographer/Editor

Chrisw began work in videography In 2004 after completing a Certificate IV in film and video production at Sydney Film School.

He has been working with video, and as a freelance cameraman/videographer as not only a way of making a living doing something he enjoys, but as a stepping stone to working in the film and television industry. Chris has enjoyed producing professional video content over the years, and seeing the increasing expansion of video content creation, especially online to tell a story, promote a website, and as a recording medium for events and social and family occasions.

One of the earliest videos Chris made was a short film I shot and edited back in 2005 called Happy Birthday Rebecca, which was a semi community awareness style short movie about the homeless.

When asked what event, past, present or future, he would most like to record Chris answered;

“Liverpool Football Club clinching the English Premier League title on the last day of the season, for Sky Sports 1 at Anfield football stadium in Liverpool.”

Cat Di Girolamo
Photographer

Caterina DiGirolamo discovered her passion for photography when she first visited Sicily and was shown this ancient culture and landscape through the eyes of her grandfather a born and bred native of that land.

Aged fifteen she picked up her first camera and saw the world through different eyes. Excited by her ability to capture spontaneous human emotions, pride, strength and spirit she used her camera to get involved in people’s lives and to tell a powerful story through photos.

Hayley Thorncraft
Administration/Office Management

A photography student with a creative soul and a degree in Advertising and Marketing makes Hayley Thorncraft the perfect new addition to the Family Videography team. A relative jack of all trades, Hayley looks after the administration, web content management, and marketing for the business.

When asked what event, past, present or future, he would most like to photograph Hayley answered;

I would love to have photographed my grandparents on the day they met. They have this beautiful, meeting story that is purely based in chance (and determination on my grandfather part!). I’ve never known two people to have as solid, loving and loyal relationship as them. It would also just be amazing to see them at my age; I hear my grandmother was a bit of a firecracker!
